As part of a major investment programme to provide additional manufacturing facilities, office accomodation and infrastructure developments at BAE Systems Samlesbury, F. Brown plc were sub contracted to BAM to undertake work on an iconic Reception Building.
The site is responsible for many aircraft manufacturing and support systems including the front fuselage of the Eurofighter Typhoon. Reflecting this, the striking innovative design of the Reception Building alludes to the dynamic form of a fighter jet. With the latest audio visual facilities for viewing information about the company and its products, the reception building gives the first impression of BAE Systems for visitors to the site.
F. Brown plc have over forty years experience of working on BAE sites, cladding many of the large hangars and carrying out internal fit-outs and refurbishments. This project involved the installation of Corus composite cladding panels on to the steel frame, which were then overlaid with bespoke AME Proteus HR rainscreen cladding panels and perforated aluminium panels to the prow area.
